Your drive should now be named iPortableSnowx86. Just to make sure that your drive will be bootable, run iPortable Bootfix from your new drives “Hackintosh tools” folder. Be extremely careful to install everything to the right drive. Read the warnings and follow the instructions.

Choose “iPortableSnowx86” for installation!!!!! Now copy the “boot” file from meklorts nbi to the root directory of your “iPortableSnowx86” drive. This will give you full display resolution but no QE/CI yet. You can either go on copying the other needed kexts to your drive or do some test booting with your drive. I recommend the second.

Press ESC during boot and choose your external drive. It should boot without any problems using “-v –f” for first boot. It is generally a good idea to use –v -f until everything works fine.

First boot may take some time, so get some coffeeEventually it will boot up. If not, follow the instructions in the iPortable Snow ReadMe. Running pfix usually helps. You can run this utility from any mac and use it on your iPortable Snow hard drive. After first boot you will be greeted by the OS X setup assistant. Enter the information needed. Now you can copy the kexts from my zip-file to /Extra/Extensions. Boot again with –v -f. If you get kernel panic, boot again, with/without –v –f until the system starts up.

You may have to boot several times until everything is recognized. Open system preferences, network, so that ethernet and airport will be initialized. If you hear a hissing sound, lower the volume of “Microphone (PinkRear)” under Input.

Install synaptics preference pane and do the necessary settings, especially two finger scrolling. If your cursor gets jumpy, use a usb mouse to finish everything and reboot. Your trackpad should now work with two finger scrolling. You should now have a working 10.6.2. Install any language pack you whish from SL Install DVD (optional installs). Make a backup copy of your system using Carbon Copy Cloner.

It is safe to run Software Update except for 10.6.4/10.6.5 update. Run the combo update installer from Apple instead. After any system update, run pfix, boot with –v –f until everything runs fine. Remember to apply the USB kexts fix for 10.6.5! If airport does not work after combo update, reinstall IO80211Family.kext to /E/E or /S/L/E.

Reboot several times, it will eventually come back. You are done now, congratulations. Do any fine tuning to the system you prefer. Double/Triple Boot In my EeePC configuration, the hard disk was partitioned into two visible partitions.

Windows 7 is installed on the first partition, so we can use the second partition for OS X. However, after formatting the second partition to Mac OS X, I was not able to boot into Windows anymore. This can be fixed by starting from any Windows install DVD and running repair setup.

You may have to run it three times. Some EeePC come without a Windows 7 DVD, so get one before messing with the second partition. It is basically restoring the mbr, so look for help on this if something goes wrong.

This may not be necessary if you have a stock EeePC since I installed Windows 7 Home Basic instead of the Starter version included. Start OS X and Disk Utility. Some news about 10.6.6: I copied my working system to an externel HDD and did the update via Software Update from Apple. After applying the USB kext patches (see above) and reinstalling the Atheros WiFi kext everything seemed to run smoothly. Only thing that does not work: I cannot open flash pages, neither with Safari nor with Chrome. I know I can install an older Version of Flash and this would probably fix this issue, but this is not what I want. Does anybody have similar problems after updating to 10.6.5 or 10.6.6? I have tried with similar kext with no success. Now I'm trying with an external usb wifi. The boot file taken from meklort's web site (315 kb) does not resolve the graphics problems.

Everything worked fine including you tube replay. I also upgraded to 10.6.8. Again everything works fine except for playing you tube videos. I can get Safari to work using You tube HTML5 instead of flash but this does not work in Mozilla. How do I get You tube to wkr the way it did n 10.6.2. By the way I am using the boot file of 10.6.2. This is very important.
